Lake Forest Home Remodel recently installed this whole home water softening system from aquasure that our customer provided to us.  We provide a lot of plumbing services to our amazing customers. We also updated the existing gate valve to a new ball valve.  Lastly, we replaced the water pressure reducing valve with a new one.  We used pro-press fittings at all joints and installed an easily replaceable hose bib for future servicing. Notice there are (4) separate shut off valves in this configuration.  There is the primary shutoff at the bottom as well as the bypass valves so that way the homeowner can easily direct the water flow around the filters for servicing. While definitely not the prettiest install, due to its tight location and accessibility, I am probably most proud of this install. This was done for a family of 6 with newly minted teenagers.  As such, their existing 40gal tank heater just couldn’t handle the task for the volume of laundry, dishes, showers, and everything in between that this family could dole out.  We pulled out the existing electric water heater and ran new gas lines outside the home in preparation for this gas powered unit.  We had to open up the wall to relocate all of the in-feed and out-feed lines and because we had to be completed before shower time, drywall repairs will come at a later date.

This Navien NPE-240a2 tankless water heater will provide them with an endless supply of hot water on demand with both the highest level of efficiency as well as the shortest startup times.  We paired it with the Halo5 whole home filtration system to help eliminate chlorine, fluoride, and mineral build up in their home.  The homeowner also plans to add the Halo CK-10 water softener as well to give them the best quality of water available here in Southern California.

Wow, just wow.  This project was one of my favorites to date for one our best clients.  We have been working with Jeff & Val for almost 7 years now and have nearly renovated their entire home. This project started by bringing on Tawni Keeton from www.vikitchendesign.com.  She was able to fully encapsulate Jeff & Val’s vision and brought us beautiful renderings, detailed plans, and we were able to run with it.  We made some quick changes along the way.  Originally we had planned to leave the soffit over the existing pantry, but we chose to cut it back and run the cabinetry all the way over adding storage space and creating a more cohesive look in that corner.  

Other notable parts of this project include the removal of a fairly pointless window as well as remodeling their existing fireplace.  There are a lot of small details in this project that really make it ring true.  We even pulled off a flush mounted receptacle on the waterfall side to keep us in line with code requirements.  We used LED lighting from www.flexfireleds.com. They are full color spectrum RGBW+ LED’s including all white colors from soft white to daylight.  Val wanted to eliminate the need for any eye sores with the backsplash and opted to undermount their power strips as well.

Last but not least, we built them a custom cutting board to match their floating shelves!
